MEN’S CLUB PRESIDENCY LETTER

Hello and welcome to what is sure to be another great year for the Birch Creek Men’s Club Association.  The Presidency is very excited about this year.  We have made a couple of small changes to meet your growing needs and requests, and we believe 2012 is going to be the best yet.

Below are some of the key items to remember:

1-                 Our Internet site, www.birchcreekmens.com, has been refined from last years version, and is now much more user friendly.  We have done away with the login, so you now go directly to the site and can easily access the calendar, scores, payout, and other.

2-                 To assist those who don’t use the Internet, we now have a physical, two-month long, Calendar of Events board posted just inside the front doors to the clubhouse.   This will feature UGA events as well.

3-                 Last year we added a few events which were a success-Thank you!!  We will continue with the two month match-play tourney, and the Weekly FedEx Cup point challenge and Championship that will be scheduled for later in the season as well.

4-                 We will continue with the Senior and Super-senior Club championship formats used last year.  Reminder: seniors, you are still welcome to play in both the Seniors-only club-championship, and the regular club championship.

5-                 Beware of your pace of play.  A 9-hole round should take no more than 2 hours and 10 minutes.  Remember everyone behind you paid to have the privilege to play here too, and you are negatively impacting their experience if you aren’t keeping up with the group in front of you.  If there is room in front of you, let faster players play through, regardless of your pace of play.   Help our Marshalls, who are all valuable members of our association, provide a great round for everyone.

6-                 Take a close look at Eric’s letter to our association.  He includes a lot of information I didn’t cover here, including a great new club with several new benefits, and information on the punch passes and season passes.

Welcome to Birch Creek Golf Course and the Birch Creek Men’s Association.  Our Men’s Association play anytime of the day on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, you just need to play with another Association Member.  Our weekly Men’s Association Events are one tournament over three days so you can choose to play on whatever day works best for you.  You can also play more than once in a weekly Men’s Association Event.  Your weekly tournament fee is $6, plus green and cart fees if you choose to take a riding cart.

Opening week of play, March 26, 27 & 28th.  Also, our Opening Registration & FREE Burger Night & Pepsi are on these dates from 5-7pm.  Please come and meet your 2013 Men’s Association Presidency, get registered for Men’s and get your punch passes while they are on Sale.

2013 Men’s Association Registration Fee is $40.

Birch Creek Players Club.  Cost is $40.  Players Club Members can purchase punch passes all year at the Spring Sale Price!  Players Club Members will receive a 10 driving range small bucket pass, valued at $30 when joining.  This is our way of saying “Thank You” for being a Players Club Member.  Other benefits include: save a $1.50 off a large bucket of range balls, purchase your new golf equipment by paying ½ down and letting Birch Creek carry the other ½ and let you use your Men’s Association winnings to pay your balance.  Remaining balance must be paid by October 31^st.  Also receive a 10% discount off all soft goods that are not currently on sale.

Season Pass Walking.  Regular age 18-59 $800.  Senior age 60+ $700.  Juniors age 12-17 $225.

Season Pass Riding.  Regular age 18-59 $1400.  Senior age 60+ $1300.

Season Passes are valid 7 days a week for the 2013 golf season.

FLIGHTS:  We have Regular & Senior divisions.  Handicap is as follows:

Regular: A=+3-4.  B=5-8.  C=9-12.  D=13-18.  This is a 9 hole handicap.

Senior: SA=0-4.  SB=5-8.  SC=9-12.  SD=13-18  Age 50+

Please tell the Staff your AGE!!

Skins Game- Every flight has a skins game.

HANDICAP- your Men’s Association handicap is your best 3 of your last 6 weekly 9 hole scores that you played in a Men’s Association event.  Your handicap will change so please check your handicap on your website.  It is your responsibility to know your handicap, however we will have an updated handicap sheet available at the Pro Shop counter to view each week.

TEES- If you are in the Regular Division (A) Flight, you will play the BLUE TEE.  All other flights, including Seniors  will play the WHITE TEE.

SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.  Saturday, August 10^th, 8am Shotgun.  You must have played in 6 weekly Men’s Association events by July 31^st to enter.  No Exception!!!!!

REGULAR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.  Saturday, August 17th, 8am Shotgun.  18-36 holes.  You must have played in 6 weekly Men’s Association events by August 1st to enter.  No Exception!!!!

Tee Times.  You can make your tee times one week in advance for weekdays and call Tuesday for tee times on Saturday & Sunday.

Results.  Listen to KIX 96 with Lynn Simmons every Friday morning around 8am to hear the GROSS winners from the past weeks Event.  You can also see your results in the Herald Journal.  Your results are also posted on your website: www.birchcreekmens.com
